Women's History Month Celebration
"Our History is Our Strength"
"Our History is Our Strength" theme of Coalition's Women's History Month annual event
Several of the members are the founders of their respective organizations in Lake County. The Coalition members being honored include (living or deceased): Margaret Kaiser (d.) long time member of both YWCA Lake County and AAUW Waukegan; Stephanie Sulthin (d.), Altrusa International Lake County, Sue DeWulf, Aux Plaines Chapter 99s; Emily Rees Wilcox, Virginia Blomquist, and Doris Devore of Waukegan Area Church Women United; Mary Leben, Women’s Business Exchange; Sally Zeit, League of Women Voters Lake County; Virginia Fiester Frederick (d.), Women Interested in Government, Margaret Young, Waukegan Women’s City Club and Eleanor Luby, Beta Signa Phi. The honorees were recognized at a brunch taking place Saturday, March 26, at State Bank of the Lakes, 50 Commerce Drive in Grayslake.
Our HISTORY is Our Strength also paid tribute to Women Firsts, those women both nationally and locally, who helped create a better world for the times in which they lived as well as for future generations.
