Women have been reformers, suffragettes and history-makers. Hear true stories of their noteworthy accomplishments and sometimes notorious deeds. Meet women’s historian Barbara Joan Zeitz, author of A Thesaurus of Women: From Cherry Blossoms to Cell Phones, and Mary Goljenboom, author of Have Courage, Work Hard: Quotations on Work and Success from the First Women of Business. Celebrate Women’s Equality Day, learn about our foremothers, enjoy refreshments and conversation, and purchase books from the authors, including Diana’s Lake County, Illinois: An Illustrated History.
Pre-registration is required. Go to the library's website, wnpl.info, click on calendar tab and find AUGUST, TUESDAY 25, click on Lake County Women Who Made History and complete registration form.
